The DJ who has the honor to mix the third вЂ˜History of Hardcore' compilation started
his own drive-in disco at the age of twelve together with a couple of friends from
his hometown The Hague. He mostly played at schoolparty's before his first
residence at Club 71 in 1986, though it was in 1988 before he experienced his first
introduction with Housemusic. In 1991 he became one of the residents in the
legendary club вЂ˜Parkzicht' in Rotterdam besides the Hardcore originators
Paul Elstak and DJ Rob.

After headlining the вЂ˜Rave the City' events he soon played clubs and parties all over
Holland where he met The Prophet, DJ Dano and Buzz Fuzz. Because the four DJ's
completed eachother with their musical styles, they soon decided to start their own
DJ-collective: the Dreamteam. In 1995 Gizmo won the award for best international
DJ in Switzerland next to DJ's like Carl Cox and Sven Väth.

If every record tells a story, this compilation tells the history of one of the most
legendary DJ's on Dutch ground; DJ Gizmo…

The DVD contains a special interview with DJ Gizmo, exclusive material from his
home-video collection and previously unreleased footage of the Dreamteam.

This compilation tells the story of DJ Buzz Fuzz who started his career in 1987 as
swingbeat DJ in Amsterdam. After visiting his first houseparty in 1991 it was
love at first sight and it didn’t take long before he played his new bought house
records at memorable parties like Hellraiser, Thunderdome and Multigroove.

Together with the DJ’s Dano, The Prophet and Gizmo he formed the world famous
Dreamteam and played his own tunes all over the globe. In the year 1997 and 1998
Buzz Fuzz won the award for best hardcore producer and nowadays he’s still one of the
most popular DJ’s worldwide. Especially for the History of Hardcore he mixed a unique
collection of his favourite tunes that were important for him and his career in
different ways.

This is the perfect CD to play all day if you hate your neighbours!
DJ Totschlag managed to create some tracks that probably no-one has managed to create before. Basically the music is noise tweaked in all extremities, terrifyingly distorted and often sampling screams as if the gates of Hell have opened with a BPM varying from a “mere” 240 to 1100. Yes, you read well - one thousand one hundred!
It seems that except for a couple of collaborations, the majority of the titles are probably written by the same DJ Totschlag guised under a lot of aliases. But one thing is sure – every track is great and has something different, and there is no track which annoys me.
Perfect if you don’t want to sleep or to scare away your neighbourhood!
